The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake

My first book for this year's challenge is The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake by Aimee Bender.  This is the story of a little girl feeling her mother's emotions by eating a cake she made.  The description kid of reminds me of Like Water for Chocolate.  I really liked that book, so I'm hoping that this book is good too.  Jerra recommended it to me a long time ago and I finally found it at the library.
