I finally finished The World We Found. When I first started reading this book I thought the story was interested. 3 friends traveling to America to visit an old college friend who is dying of cancer. The story was a little slow going at first, but I liked learning a little about all the girls and their lives. As the story progressed I felt that the the story shifted away from the friend with cancer, Armaiti, and started to focus more on Nishta, the one who married a Muslim. If felt like instead of visiting Armaiti, the friends were looking for a way to save Nishta.
I understand that there were a lot of political messages in the book, but I felt like the story diverged too much from the original main idea. There were so many things mentioned in the book (like the relationship between Armaiti and Kavita) that were left unsolved/unanswered. I really wish we would have seen the friends be reunited with Armaiti rather than just seeing the events that led up to it.
