Book #49: The Weight of Silence

I am starting 'The Weight of Silence' by Heather Gudenkauf today. I have heard lots of good reviews about this book from everyone who has read it. It is the story of two little girls who go missing one night in a small town in Iowa. Their families are looking for the answer of what happened to the girls and find some unspoken family secrets.

  1. This was such a great story. I really could not put the book down and read it in 2 days. I'm really glad that I recommended it for our August pick for book club. It should make for some interesting discussion, especially from a group of moms. The story was so sad, but heartwarming at the same time. I think it had the happiest ending possible for a story like that. Hopefully I won't get any nightmares from it after we move back to a small town in Iowa. I will definitely be locking all doors and making sure Levi hooks up his crazy alarm system to keep my kids safe in the house.

  2. Just don't adopt any wandering Iowa State students as friends and you should be find. Also, hopefully, Levi doesn't turn into a raging drunk dragging Norah through the woods claiming that you're in love with Gary or something. Haha. Glad you liked it!
