Book 24: The Lovely Bones

It seems like everyone I know has read 'The Lovely Bones' by Alice Sebold, so I thought I'd read it and have something to discuss with people. I borrowed it from a friend so I can take it with me on vacation. I am really excited to read this since I have heard so many good things about it. And being a Mark Wahlberg fan I would love to see the movie, but I am a little obsessive about reading a book before I see the movie.

  1. I am loving this book. I just think it is so beautifully written. I have two more days of reading on it and I am really looking forward to the conclusion.

  2. I finished this book last Tuesday. I didn't love this book, but I really liked it. I agree that it was beautifully written, but it really wasn't at all what I expected. It was interesting to see the idea that everyone has a different version of Heaven and that reminded me of the movie "What Dreams May Come". I guess I was a little disappointed in the ending. I really wanted the Mr. Harvey to be caught before he could hurt anyone else and I wanted the family to know where she was buried to have a sense of closure. I was also hoping for a baby from Ray and Ruth, but that really wouldn't have fit into Ruth's character. I'm glad I finally read this book.
