Book #27: Out
For the 2nd book in my Asian theme I am going to read 'Out' by Natsuo Kirino. This book was the winner of Japan's Top Mystery Award. I really love Asian literature and mysteries, so I really hope to like this book. It's the story of a young mother who strangles her husband and then seeks help from her co-workers to get rid of his body and cover up the crime she committed.

I definitely need to put this on my list to read.
ReplyDeleteI finished this book last night. It was very different from other mysteries I have read lately. It took a little while to get into the story because there were so many characters, but I loved the way all the characters were intertwined. One the crime happened the story was interesting, but warning, very gruesome. After the crime there was some down time with a love of police investigations and such. But about 150 pages from the end the story really picked up again and had lots of action and some more gore. I would say overall I am glad I read it to give me a sense of Asian Mysteries. This book is not recommended for weak stomaches, but it is a very interesting and unique book.
