Book 37: The Interior
'The Interior' by Lisa See is the 2nd book in the The Red Princess Mystery collection. Once again Liu Hulan will be working with David Stark to solve a case about her friend's daughter's suspicious suicide. This case will involve Hulan going undercover. While the first book focuses on the Chinese economy, this one is supposed to be more about powerful bonds of family, friendship, and history in China. I am hoping this one keeps me as interested as the first book did.

I wish the library had these. I could probably request them from the DSM public library, but I'm too lazy. And, we're too close to being done with Asian lit.
ReplyDeleteI am really liking The Red Princess Mystery series. It reminds me a lot of the Millennium series. I wanted to read the third one to finish out the Asian Lit quarter, but it hasn't come in yet. I look forward to reading more of See's books some day too.
ReplyDeleteI think I liked 'The Interior' even better than 'Flower Net'. Most of the reason is because it started off right in a crime and didn't have to give the reader background info on all the characters. What I like about this series is that there isn't just one crime, there are a number of crimes that all intertwine together to keep you interested. While I could guess a few things that happened, there were also lots of twists. These are really the types of mysteries that I love.
